Didja Notice?
Jackson tells the warden that the inmates at the prison "are
a superstitious lot at the best of times." This line of dialog
may have been written with a nod towards the comic book
character Batman, who said in his origin story,
"Criminals are a superstitious cowardly lot. So my disguise
must be able to strike terror into their hearts."
The story takes place at Blackledge Prison. This appears to
be a fictitious institution.
Sapphire senses that time is full of contradictions at the
prison, with events that don't follow on from another in any
way and Steel asks if it's "another time storm". He is
referring to events in
"The Lighthouse" Part 1.
At about 14:20 in the episode, Kent is singing the words of
the nursery rhyme "Ding Dong Bell".
The warden of the prison tells Sapphire that all sex
offenders are kept in a VPU. VPU stands for Vulnerable
Prisoner Unit, a wing of a prison in the UK reserved for
inmates who would be in danger from other prisoners if left
in the general prison population.
A prison guard (Hammond) accuses Steel (whom the guard sees
as Kent) of trying to act crazy so he'll get shipped off to
Broadmoor instead. This is
Broadmoor Hospital, a high-security psychiatric hospital
in England.
