The song playing in the background at 4:28 in the episode
appears to be an original composition for the episode. I
have been unable to identify it. Same with the song at
24:03.
In 1972, Adrian says the incident when Nicholas and his
father had their fight occurred the night Kennedy died, "9
years ago". U.S. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated
on November 22, 1963.
Adrian also mentions a WWII Japanese soldier who gave
himself up "last week" in the pacific. He is referring to
Shoichi Yokoi (1915-1997), a sergeant in the Imperial
Japanese Army who was found in the jungles of Guam and
finally surrendered himself on January 24, 1972. This
would place the 1972 events of this episode around the
beginning of February.
A number of Sapphire and Steel's assignments involve
children. In this episode, Steel mutters, "Children. Why
is it always children?" Sapphire responds, "They're
less aware of time, Steel. Less frightened of it. They have
less reason to fight it."
